Product Information

The RapidCue Desktop Edition is a tool for creating and editing your cue sheets while not connected to the Internet. After downloading, you have access to all cue sheets from your online Inbox and to all of your company database’s works and EPs. As a safeguard, downloading to the RapidCue Desktop Edition locks your online inbox to all functionality (except preview) until your next upload.

Functionality of the RapidCue Desktop Edition

  1. Add new or edit existing cue sheets. Specifically, you can:
    1. Add / delete cues
    2. Add / delete EPs on a work that is on a cue (with exceptions - see below for functionality that does not exist in this product)
    3. Search and add or existing works and EPs to include in your cue sheet
    4. Prevent entry of duplicate works or EPs
    5. Copy cue info
    6. Duplicate works
    7. Generate default share percentages for EPs
    8. Add / delete / search organizations
    9. Add / delete / search actors / directors
    10. Add / delete AKAs
  2. Copy a cue sheet that exists in your inbox
  3. Preview cue sheets - with options to view on screen or save PDF version to disk
  4. Upload/Download – Synchronizing offline to web

Major functionality that does not exist in RapidCue Desktop Edition

In order to perform the following functions, the user must synchronize (upload), then use the web application.

  • Check-in
  • Workflow
  • Submit
  • Transfer
  • Main Search – cue sheet DB
  • Series Maintenance
  • Reporting – submission
  • Administration
  • Preferences
  • Delete cue sheet from your inbox
  • Modify existing works or EPs. You cannot do this in the RapidCue Desktop Edition as a protection to the works and EPs that might be changed by other company users.

Installation Instructions

Step 1. Before installing RapidCue Desktop Edition, make sure you have a valid version of the JDK version 1.4.

Step 2. Launch Java Web Start.

  • On Windows go to: Start | Programs | Java Web Start | Java Web Start.
  • On Macintosh go to Finder | Finder | Open | Applications | Utilities | Java | Java Web Start.

Step 3. From the Java Web Start application click View | Download Applications.

Step 4. When you will see a popup box asking you to install a shortcut, click yes. This will allow you to launch the application in future by clicking the shortcut on the desktop.

Note: There will also be a shortcut to the application in the Start Menu on Windows or Finder on the Mac.
